  • Beautiful Beaded late 19th century Lakota Indian (Western Sioux), Pipe Bag with Flint Stone accessory bag. Beading is 99% perfect, missing no more than one or two strands (shown in pics).
    Tags from 1955 Sotheby’s auction are still attached. Bags were part of a collection from renowned Southwest archaeologist Henry “Clay” Lockett II, who had purchased them from Randolf Hearst’s collection in the ’50s.
    The Pipe bag is 16″ (41cm) long without fringe, and 25″ (63cm) long including the fringe. Width 7″ (18cm).
    Beading on the pipe bag is the same pattern front and back (Pictures of both sides included.
    The bag is made of cowhide.
    The Flint Stone accessory bag is 3.5″ (8.5cm) x 2.5″ (6cm). The beading is different on both sides, pictured.
